A St. Patrick’s Day to Remember at Tierney’s Irish Pub Haarlem! 🍀

Looking for the best Irish pub experience in Haarlem? St. Patrick’s Day at Tierney’s Irish Pub Haarlem was one for the books!

The celebrations kicked off with a lively afternoon duo set featuring Ken Parsons and Jurgen, performing traditional Irish ballads, fingerpicking tunes, and classic harp songs. Jurgen’s incredible fiddle playing added a rich depth to the music, setting the perfect tone for the night ahead.

After a quick break, the energy soared with a nearly full-band set from Monty Pagan, featuring Nino on drums and Kasper on bass. The pub was alive with singing, dancing, and laughter as the crowd enjoyed everything from classic Irish folk to original tunes like It’s Alright and the fan-favorite Bakfiets Mama. Of course, no St. Patrick’s Day would be complete without a few Pogues songs and a rousing rendition of Dirty Old Town!

A Magical Music Moment 🎶

One of the standout moments of the night came during a performance of Sally Free and Easy by Cyril Tawney. This hauntingly beautiful song took on a fresh twist when Nino added a psychedelic 60s-style groove, creating a fusion that was both unexpected and brilliant. While we didn’t record it this time, it’s definitely becoming a regular in our set—especially when Roosje joins in on harp and second vocals. Even BBC Folk Radio is getting a copy!
